Dime Sports fantasy sports software is somewhat limited and more basic than some of the other flashy products we reviewed, but these games offer some of the heftiest cash payouts when it comes to prizes. Dime is exclusively fantasy football and fantasy basketball oriented, though their website offers news pages and headlines for NFL, NBA, MLB, NCAAF, NCAABK, and the PGA.
All fantasy games from Dime Sports are based on the salary cap model.
Sign-up is easy, though even entrants signing up for the Free Fantasy Football Challenge are asked to supply a credit card number.
Standout features:
Dime Sports fantasy sports software offers three levels of play for fantasy basketball or fantasy football. All games are classified as being games of skill – meaning every entrant has the same chance to win or place in their leagues based on their own skill and knowledge level.
Membership fees for any of the three Dime Sports fantasy games are $39.95 - $59.95 a piece.
The Fantasy Football Challenge consists of teams of 11 payers on a salary cap of $50 million. Positions are two quarterbacks, three wide receivers, three running backs, one tight end, one kicker and one defensive unit. Entrants vie for a $100,000 grand prize as well as divisional and weekly prize money.
The Mid-Season Fantasy Football Challenge has the same team structure (and not bound by any of the usual draft models with the exception of the salary cap – in this case $25 million). The overall prize here is $10,000.
The Free Fantasy Basketball Challenge is a $3,000 prize with no entry fee. You select a 10-player team on a $30 million salary cap. The team consists of three guards, three forwards, three centers and one Dream Team player.
There is also a March Madness Contest Bracket that only becomes available for registration with the tournament – every March. Contestants pick the winners of the 63 games including the Final Four and the predicted champion. The Perfect Bracket Prize for this game is $10,000, with product prizes awarded to the top three finishers.
Dime Sports fantasy sports software also offers comprehensive how-to-play guides for fantasy football, fantasy basketball and March Madness Contest Bracket. These guides cover how to play, drafting your team, managing your team, scoring, fees, game time freeze, trades, player salaries and prizes.
